Important Equipment
& Safety Information
  • Shinpads are to be worn by everyone!
  • Skaters age 5 and under are required to wear a helmet. These helmets are not available for rent. A bicycle of hockey helmet can be purchased from our ProShop if you do not have one.
  • Proper fitting and expertly sharpened skates are an important element in rapid skating development.
  • Skates should be laced tight, not loose.
  • Rental skates are available in Figure and Hockey styles and included in your class fee. Please provide ample time before class to get a proper pair of skates that fit.
  • First time skaters might want to try Figure skates because they lace all the way up the ankle for a tighter fit. If you choose Hockey skates remember to make them as tight as possible.
  • Layers of clothing are essential as you may need to remove single layers to remain comfortable through a typical session.
  • Gloves are absolutely necessary if you plan to remain warm.
  • One pair of thin socks is adequate.

Welcome to the Learn to Skate Program. We promote skating for wellness for the whole family. Classes are offered for Tots through Adults. The class is grouped by age and ability level and everyone works periodically as one group. This program is designed to help anyone learn how to skate so that they can advance into one of the following: Figure Skating, Hockey, Speedskating or Recreational Skating. Ask for a recommendation from one of our expert instructors.

Available programs following Learn-To-Skate: Private Figure Skating Lessons, Team Excel, Learn to Play Hockey, Hockey Clinics or Instructional Leagues, Recreational Skating. You may contact any member of our teaching staff for assistance regarding your skating ability and our programs.

Tots
Our program develops the preschooler's agility, coordination and strength necessary to maneuver on the ice.
*Skaters age 5 and under are required to wear a helmet! These helmets are not available for rent.

Parent / Tot (optional)
A Parent may accompany their Tot skater during the lesson to facilitate early childhood learning. Additional fee equal to half of the selected session fee will apply.

Bring-a-Buddy Days
The second lesson day in each session is the Bring-a-Buddy day. Skaters can bring a buddy
to class for free!.

Youth - Ages 6 and up
Our program can help youths, ages 5 and up, learn the fundamentals of skating. There are 8 levels which introduce the fundamentals ice skating. Basic 1 - 8.

Adult
If you're a beginner adult skater our program will promote physical fitness, improve balance and coordination while learning proper skating techniques. Divided into two levels, adult skaters will progress at an individual rate while being challenged and motivated. This is a new exciting program for people who look to skating as an enjoyable way for a fit and healthy lifestyle.
